Voice Data Processing

When you use voice features in Hablemos:

• Your voice recording is sent securely to our backend servers
• We use Google Cloud Speech-to-Text API to transcribe your speech
• Voice recordings are processed in real-time and are not permanently stored
• The transcribed text is used to generate AI responses and provide feedback
• You can use the app without the microphone by typing your responses

Important: We do not use your voice recordings to train machine learning models or for any purpose other than providing the speech-to-text functionality within the app.

Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services to provide our app functionality:

• Supabase: For backend infrastructure and edge functions
• Google Cloud: For speech-to-text and text-to-speech processing
• Google Gemini: For AI conversation responses
• Apple StoreKit: For subscription management

These services have their own privacy policies, and we encourage you to review them. We only share the minimum data necessary for these services to function.

Data Storage and Security

• Local Storage: Your learning progress, preferences, and streak data are stored locally on your device using SwiftData
• No Cloud Sync: We do not sync your personal learning data to external servers
• Encryption: All data transmitted to our servers uses HTTPS encryption
• Transient Processing: Voice data is processed in real-time and not retained after processing

Data Retention

• Voice Recordings: Not retained; processed in real-time and immediately discarded
• Local App Data: Retained on your device until you delete the app or clear app data
• Support Communications: Retained as long as necessary to resolve your inquiry
• Analytics Data: Aggregated and anonymized; retained for up to 24 months

Your Rights

You have the following rights regarding your data:

• Access: You can access your learning data within the app's Profile section
• Deletion: You can delete all your local data by uninstalling the app
• Opt-out: You can use the app without the microphone (type instead of speak)
• Disable Analytics: Contact us to opt out of anonymized analytics

Since we do not collect personal identifiers, we cannot link data to individual users. If you have specific privacy concerns, please contact us.

Children's Privacy

Hablemos is intended for users of all ages. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. The app does not require account creation or personal information to function. If you believe a child has provided personal information through support channels, please contact us and we will delete it.
